Laser Pointer Protective Lens (Day)

Laser pointer protective lenses have been designed to protect anyone using a laser pointer as well as anyone being lased by one wielding a laser pointer. Laser pointers are typically safe as manufactured, but, do cause anyone exposed to jump or startle when exposed to a beam. This is commonly referred to as the dazzle effect and, it is of particular concern among pilots being lased upon landing. More recently, laser pointers, in some cases, have been weaponized by removing power-limiting and/or beam-limiting filters thus turning simple pointers into very dangerous automatic weapons, blinding in less time than the human eye can blink (the human eye aversion response, aka, blink response time is 0.25 seconds). Permanent or partial blindness are typical results of such senseless attacks. Fortunately, we can reduce the hazardous energy effectively by blocking known laser pointer threats in specifically designed protective eyewear.

Our laser pointer strike-protection series of lenses are designed to block hazardous lasers pointer emission by at least 90% and up to 99%. Such protection significantly reduces the chance for serious eye damage. We strive to block the most common laser hazards in each design but, practically speaking, we cannot block every wavelength and still be able to see through the lens. We offer two designs, a nighttime wearable lens that blocks six (6) known laser-hazard wavelengths and a daytime wearable lens that blocks twelve (12) known laser-pointer wavelengths. The more distinct wavelengths one blocks, the darker the lens color.
